Applications for Summer 2026

As a SOCO participant, join a group of your peers living in intentional Christian community as together you learn how to integrate faith and life in meaningful ways while working a summer job in beautiful Norfolk County, Ontario, from May – August, 2026.

With engaging Christian mentors, you will explore a variety of integral faith and life matters such as: vocational discernment, theology of place, fiscal responsibility, a Christian sexual ethic, conflict stewardship, social justice, dynamics of power in leadership.

Recognizing that worship and a larger community of believers are essential components to a Christ-shaped life, we will be connected with a local congregation.  You will be given assistance in securing summer employment and housing is included.

Application Process & Timeline

Apply

  • Priority Deadline: January 15, 2026
  • After that, applications are accepted on a rolling basis until spaces are filled.

Interview

  • Once you apply, you’ll be contacted for a follow‑up interview with Pastor Willemina.
  • This helps both you and SOCO discern if the program is a good fit.

Acceptance

  • After your interview, you’ll receive communication about your acceptance.
  • To confirm your spot, submit a $500 non‑refundable deposit within two weeks of your invitation.

Employment Prep

  • March: Summer job postings usually open.
  • You’ll receive guidance to line up employment before arriving in May.
  • If you want a co‑op placement, let Pastor Willemina know early with your program requirements.
  • Ultimately, securing a job or co‑op placement is your responsibility (with support provided).
